Diecast Models- SCRATCH BUILT MODELS 1
In fact it is only the rears of these models that are scratch built usually using recycled materials. The cabs or prime movers are generally scrubbers that have been totally restored, repainted and in some cases after market parts fitted.
The prime mover is a Corgi AEC which has been totally restored and painted in Boral colours.(An Australian Building supply company). The front view shows the after market pallets of cement and bricks.
The tray has been scratch built on top of a Corgi truck chassis. As can be seen the sides slide into the posts and are removed to allow the forklift to operate. The tray bed has been built so the pallets fit snuggly into designated slots.

The platforms are a 3 ml aluminium composite with a rubber sandwiched in the middle. The tope deck has been designed to drop and is held up with a bar that swivels 90 degrees controlled by the protruding handles. Appropriate decals have been applied.

The Prime mover is a French Dinky Berliet which was in poor condition and has been totally restored. The chassis has been added to lengthen it using recycled materials. The flatbed is a Dinky Pullmore transporter ramp which has been upgraded by adding the side rails and a pulley system. The ramp is fixed with a pin under the carriage and when the pin is removed it slides as shown in the photos till it reaches a point at which it tilts. French motor decals completes the look.
