Diecast Models - Micro Models VW KOMBI SERIES
Micro Models various variations of the VW Kombi. Some of these photos appear elsewhere but shown together allows a good comparison of the different models. They all started life as a VW Van like the one in the "Things go better with Coke" Coca Cola photo.
A Micro Models VW kombi van painted and then decorated with home made decals top resemble a van fro the Hippie years. Decals done loosely to try to get a more hand painted look.
A rear view of the VW Micro Models VW Hippie van.
Done in Coke livery with an unusual coke bottle on the roof
A chopped VW van has had its rear window moved to the back of the single cab. Real wood tray has been added. A realistic wine delivery truck using one of Australia's famous brands.
Another combination of a chopped Kombi with a drink tray added. Done in Pepsi livery from the 1960's Now in the US.
My 6th drink truck modification done in Coke livery . If Micro Models were around today they may have done one of these. Certainly looks authentic.
Once again a Micro Models VW Bus converted into a dual cab utility. I have then added a canopy to the rear as can be seen in the first two photos.
The same vehicle with a tonneau cover. Complete and flexible.
Done in a similar style as the other two but this one has a quarter window behind the drivers window. Livery as ordered being a popular Australian Beer.
View from the rear showing the rear decal
Modernised and streamlined by removing many of the protruding bits. Painted in a burnt orange metallic paint.
This is the third and final in my series of German services vehicles. Like the Polizei version this is a Fire Service van done in a similar style.
This is the second in my series of German services vehicles. Like the Polizei version this is a Red Cross van done in a similar style.
A basic Micro Models Kombi repainted and decorated with "Polizei" decals. Thought being a German vehicle it was used by that countries Police and other services. This is the first of three in the series. The headboard was sourced from other models and adapted to fit
Another VW Kombi with the roof and window removed behind the driver door. A Micro Models drinks tray has been united with the cab to make a very believable drinks truck. I guess having done one similar in Carlsberg livery I wondered why it was not a german beer company so Lowenbrau seemed appropriate
Roof and windows removed behind the driver door.White metal parts added to create a tow truck. NRMA decals applied. (National Road and Motorists Association)
This conversion of a dual cab Kombi utility. Tonneau cover added. This model was done to order.
A basic VW Kombi simply done as a Coca Cola van. Micro Models played around with different Coca Cola livery. Sold on Ebay.
Another tow truck version also done to order. RACV livery this time. (Royal Automobile Club of Victoria). Lives with the NRMA version.
Once again down to order. A copy from a photograph of a real life van. Australian Capital Territory Police
A VW Kombi with the roof and window removed behind the driver door. A Micro Models drinks tray has been united with the cab to make a very believable drinks truck. Once again Carlsberg livery used. This model is in a good home in the UK.
One of my experiments which can be seen in more detail under the heading "In Progress". In my collection at present.
A recently completed table top transporter. A model with the rear removed and mated to a custom built tray top with an inbuilt ramp. Again can be seen in more detail under the heading "In progress"
This model is a creation based on a vehicle that ran around in the Shitbox rally in Australia. The real version or versions were not exactly the same but the owner described what he wanted the model to look like. The bulbar and spare on the front was a first for me. Built to order.
